As for his motion capture skills, we would like to highlight his role as droid K-2SO, the co-pilot and sidekick to the rebel pilot Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The droid became an immediate fan favorite with his witty remarks and endearing ‘personality’. Knowing that Tudyk always had to walk on stilts on set to portray this character, only makes it more admirable. Alan Tudyk can be seen as one of the pioneers for this acting method in feature-length films, with his role as robot Sonny in the 2004 movie I, Robot.
In his list of more recognizable ‘face’ roles, we have to bring up the fantastically hilarious role of Hoban ‘Wash’ Washburne in Firefly and Serenity. This led to the crowdfunded and popular series Con Man with colleague (and 2016 FACTS guest) Nathan Fillion. Other Alan Tudyk movies and series include Transformers: Dark of the Moon, V, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, A Knight’s Tale, Dollhouse and many, many more.
Apart from his impeccable ‘face’ acting and motion capture skills, Alan Tudyk is also a very gifted voice actor. His voice acting work ranges from Green Arrow in the Injustice fighting games and in the Young Justice series, to Mickey in Halo 3: ODST and sabretooth tiger Lenny in Ice Age.
Also admirable: Alan Tudyk has voiced at least one character in nearly every Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date, starting with Wreck-It Ralph in 2012. King Candy? That’s him. Duke Weaselton in Zootopia? That’s him. He even voices Heihei the rooster in Vaiana/Moana!
Alan Tudyk will be available on September 29 and 30, in Flanders Expo Ghent, for FACTS Fall 2018. He will be available for photoshoots, autograph sessions and panels on both days.
