Actor Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries) is coming to FACTS

Also known for Lost, Smallville and Netflix' V Wars

American actor Ian Somerhalder is best known as Damon Salvatore in all 8 seasons of the CW hit series The Vampire Diaries, as Boone Carlyle in Lost and for the recent Netflix series V Wars and the classic superhero series Smallville. He is the third invited actor for FACTS' Spring edition on April 4-5, alongside Sex Education's Asa Butterfield and Once Upon a Time's Rebecca Mader.

Ian Somerhalder is probably best known as Damon Salvatore, one of the main protagonists in the CW hit TV series The Vampire Diaries, which ran for 8 seasons between 2009 and 2017. More recently, he is the star of the new Netflix series V Wars, in which he beautifully portrays Dr. Luther Swann, in a show that also features vampires. 

From 2004 to 2010, Somerhalder starred as Boone Carlyle in ABC’s celebrated drama series Lost, which earned him a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice TV Breakout Performance.

Somerhalder’s television credits include Smallville, Young Americans, and Tell Me You Love Me. His film credits include The Rules of Attraction, The Tournament, The Anomaly and How to Make Love to a Woman.

Not only his career is big, so is his heart. Somerhalder is the Founder/President of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF), which aims to advance science; promote the conservation of natural resources; provide relief to the poor, distressed, and underprivileged; among other things.

Twice a year, the FACTS Flagship docks at the halls of Flanders Expo in Ghent to present its riches in the form of world-famous actors, international comic artists, thousands of fans dressed up as fictional characters, 54.000 m² of surprising activities, and 250+ exhibitors with geeky merchandise and collector’s items. 

FACTS has been around since 1993 and has 30 years of know-how in the comic con world. On top of that, this event is backed by ‘Heroes’, a European network of 9 pop culture events spread across Belgium, The Netherlands, and Sweden. The Belgian event ‘Made in Asia’, for example, is one of those sibling events.

The 2023 editions will be held on 6-7 April and 2-3 November, in Flanders Expo Ghent. If you’re even remotely a fan of fantasy, science fiction, comics, anime, cosplay, video games, board games, films and TV series, then FACTS is a phenomenon that should be on your bucket list.
