Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok premieres at FACTS!

The Walt Disney Company, Marvel, Kinepolis & FACTS are joining forces to organise the national avant-premiere of Thor: Ragnarok at FACTS. This is a unique event: the first time that an exclusive screening takes place place at a Belgian Comic Con instead of in the usual theatres, where the movie will only be on the playbills on 25 October. At FACTS, Thor: Ragnarok will already be shown on 21 and 22 October, in a Kinepolis pop-up cinema.

This way, the new Marvel movie will have the spectacular entrance it deserves”, says Serge Van Eyck, General Manager Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the movie distributor of – among other movies – Marvel titles like The Avengers, Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

“Thor: Ragnarok has made great waves ever since it was first announced. It simply made movie fans hyped from the start and that enthusiasm now grows with every new trailer. With the debut of some comic characters in this Marvel movie universe, the wonderful acting performances and the special FACTS setting, we’re sure that this will be a unique experience. After all, we think that FACTS – as Belgium’s biggest convention for Marvel fans – is the ideal location for this event.”

Hollywood star Karl Urban will welcome the guests to this exclusive show and do the intro for the Thor: Ragnarok event. Karl Urban is the perfect man for the job, since he portrays the character ‘Skurge’ in this Marvel movie and he will be a FACTS guest for the whole weekend. Also to be seen in the movie: the characters Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

“As big Marvel fans ourselves and organisers of FACTS, we’re absolutely thrilled to be able to bring this spectacle to the fans”, says FACTS spokesperson Anthony Audenaerd. “We aim to give as many people as possible the time of their lives at FACTS, but an event as huge and exciting as this one, is truly the icing on the cake.”

The pop-up cinema of Kinepolis opens its doors on 21 and 22 October in the Flanders Expo halls, for two exclusive screenings of Thor: Ragnarok. “We immediately wanted to cooperate in this success story”, says Tom Dhaenens, Product Manager at Kinepolis. “300 guests each day will see the movie in avant-premiere on a location that breathes Marvel. It’s going to be a unique movie experience for all 600 eager movie fans!”
