In the movie department, Karl Urban is known for his roles as Judge Dredd in the dark superhero movie Dredd (2012). The Star Trek fans will surely know him primarily as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy. Karl Urban had a chance to shine in the most recent adventures of the sci-fi franchise, namely Star Trek: The Future Begins (2009), Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek: Beyond (2016).
In The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and Return of the King (2003), the last two movies in the Peter Jackson trilogy, Karl Urban gave it his best as Éomer, riding ironclad horses and convincingly waving his sword.
Even more of Karl Urban's peak performances: Necromonger Commander Vaako in The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and its sequel Riddick (2013), John Grimm in the 2005 movie Doom, Munder in the horror movie Ghost Ship (2002) and much more. For the Flemish people: Karl Urban was also Vincent Stevens in The Loft (2014), the American version of the Belgian movie by Erik Van Looy.
Karl Urban was also a welcome guest on sets of TV series. He had a recurring role in the iconic 90's series Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, in which he played Julius Caesar and Cupid.
